Myth of this VGA to TV Converter

Many people call this adapter as VGA to TV converter but the matter of fact it is NOT. You gotta making yourself to be sure that you know how to differentiate between “ADAPTER” and “CONVERTER”. And this VGA to TV cord is just an “ADAPTER.” A VGA to S-VIDEO CONVERTER or VGA to TV Converter will cost you between $40 to $90. And for wireless PC to TV converter can run you even more than $100. If you are still confuse, you should take some time to learn about them. VGA signal that used for your PC Monitor is actually not a TV Video signal. Even though they both carried analog signal. You shouldn’t confuse yourself since VGA is quite different from TV video signal.

VGA To TV Converter Or VGA Adapter

Furthermore, this VGA adapter doesn’t convert any video signal since it is not a VGA to TV converter. Your PC must has the transmission function that able to transmit TV ready images in order to use this cable. I just cannot think of how ones going to use it if they are buying a PC that did not come with an S-video jack connection. If this happen to you, then it is going to be a waste of your time and money.

I even experience that when I point this out to the hardware shop where I bought the cable, the vendors just sent me a URL which explain exactly the same thing that I mentioned. However, I am still consider lucky that I learned from my experience by placing an order for a VGA to TV converter from another vendor. If you connect the cable into a computer that does not having an NTSC output signal, then this isn’t going to work on you TV cause all TVs in America are carry with NTSC signal. It is just as if you are trying to connect a 1080p HDMI signal on a SD TV. It just not going to work in that way.

Besides, if you have a Xbox playstation and trying to connect it to a PC LCD monitor, you should try to connect the VGA output to the Xbox. It should just work without problem. In case you don’t know, the Xbox is carrying an NTSC signal at them time you use the component cable nevertheless the LCD monitor would like a VGA signal.

Most of the people who bought the vga adapter are attempting to connect this to their PC or laptops and after that connect either a VGA or S-Video cable to their TV. As what I know this just not going to work unless your PC is able to supports TV Out. The reasons lie behind is because television’s functioning on an NTCS signal but your PC is running on Analog signal even your PC LCD monitor is of analog signal.
